Mounir Benkoulouche

Co-founder, CEO. Mounir holds a PhD in microbial and enzyme engineering from INSA Toulouse and a MSc in biotechnology engineering from ENSTBB Bordeaux. With 9 years of experience in projects at the interface of synthetic biology and chemical biology, he is now tackling new scientific challenges at Lantana in order to design, build and test next-generation yeast strains.

Michael Naesby

Co-founder, President & CSO. Michael holds a PhD in Molecular Biology, and has many years of industry experience in both pharmaceutical and industrial biotechnology. His work has resulted in several publications and patent applications. Michael was co-founder of two companies and he has been involved in most aspects of setting up and running biotech companies. Michael has worked in multiple roles related to business development, funding, partnering, joint ventures, intellectual property, etc.

Caroline Louveau

Head of Labs, Research Associate in Yeast Metabolic Engineering. Caroline holds a MSc in plant biotechnology from Univ. Paul Sabatier, Toulouse. Having mainly worked in the UK (John Innes Centre and University of East Anglia), she is strong of 15 years of experience establishing functional plant pathways in micro-organisms, which she will now use to help develop the yeast platform of Lantana.

Morten Birkeland

Co-founder, Head of IP. Morten holds a MSc from Technical Univ. of Denmark and a Master of Law in Intellectual property management from Univ. of Strasbourg, France. He is a certified European Patent Attorney. Morten has held both management and specialist employments, with major international industry corporations and with technology driven SME’s. Morten has since 2014 been running IPTector™, a company providing IP and legal related products and services, as well as holding IP.

Stefan Martens

Co-founder. Stefan holds a PhD in plant genetics and molecular biology and a Diploma in plant breeding. His main research focus is on the elucidation of biosynthetic pathways of secondary metabolites in plants, including polyphenols and terpenoids. His work has resulted in more than 80 scientific publications and three patent applications. Currently he is research group leader for Biotechnology of Natural Products at the Edmund Mach Foundation, San Michele all'Adige, Italy.

Michael Eichenberger

Co-founder. Michael holds a PhD in industrial biotechnology from TU Darmstadt and a MSc in synthetic biology from ETH Zürich. His PhD work, completed at Evolva SA, focused on the biosynthesis of polyphenols in yeasts, implementing the latest developments in biology, technology and computation. Currently, Michael works as scientist at Planted Foods AG in Kemptthal, Switzerland.
